OPENING OF ANNUAL TRIALS
Ideal weather favoured the Cheviot Collie Club when it held the opening day of its annual trials on Monday on the property of Mr A. Gilianders, Domett. The entries were good, and Mr C. F. Bassett, of Oxford, was the judge. Class 1 was completed, the results being:— Head, pull, and hold in ring: Mr E. G. Rutherford's Boss (89 points) 1, Mr R. M. Wilson’s Bess (88i) 2, Mr E. Haines’s Meg (87i) 3. The maiden and district events were run in conjunction and in each event the results were the same, being: Mr E. G. Rutherford's Boss (89 points) 1, Mr T. S. Childs’s Whisk (86) 2, Mr R. G. Anderson's Brook and Mr E. Rutherford's Penny (82) (equal) 3. At the second day of the trials, yesterday, the yarding event was completed, and the huntaway event was started. Trophies won during the day were presented by Mrs C. W. Denton. Results were:—

Rutherford’s Penny (83i), 3; W. DampierCrossley’s Mist (82), 4. TEDDINGTON CLUB’S FIELD DAY Teddington Collie Dbg Club held a field day on Saturday on the Gardiner Estate. Results: — Class I.—Long head and hold in ring (41 entries): C. B. Thacker’s Boss, 55 goints, 1; F. Hunt’s Dick, 54 points, 2; Barclay’s Tim, 53 points, 3; H. Jones’s Glynn, 52 points, 4; C. Gebbie’s Tweed, 51 points, 5; M. Foley’s Reed, 50J points, 6> Class 2.—Yarding event, run in conjunction with Class 1 (33 entries): F. Hunt’s Dick, 19 points, 1; M. Foley’s Reed, 5 points. 2; A. Jackson’s Tweed, 4 points, 3; C. B. Thacker’s Boss. 3 points, 4. Class 3.—Huntaway (33 entries): L. Clark’s Fay, 33 points. 1; A. Jackson’s Dick, 30 points. 2; S. Birdling’s Storm, 28 points, 3.
The Blatchford Challenge Cup for most aggregate points in heading and huntaway classes was won by Mr Allen Jackson (Purau).
