The scheme nas been discussed with the various county ana oorough councils, nrst, as they are the ejected representatives oi the J ratepayers and the properly constituted drainage authorities tor those districts. It is intended to give the ratepayers every opportunity to discuss ana criticise the proposed wotk, which is an endeavour to satisfy the demand for a practical and workmanlike answer to the very large and complex drainage and river control proDiems in this area. Mr Harris has spared no eilort to maxe it comprehensive; and we invite the help of all ratepayers to make it successxUL Helpful ideas and constructive criticism will be oi great value.—Yours, etc., „ M.
