VETO POWERS IN JUNO
(Rec. 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 6. The Security Council’s committee of experts on procedure has temporarily abandoned its attempts to reconcile the conflicting interpretations of the circumstances under which veto power may be employed by permanent members of the council. Britain, the United States, and China oppose the Russian interpretation which in effect would enable each member of the Big Five to prevent any measure or proposal it disliked being raised in the council.
