Immediate removal of the war-time regulation which requires that public servants must reach the age of 60 before retiring on superannuation instead of on the completion of 40 years’ service as previously is sought by the New Zealand Publie Service Association. The general secretary, Mt J. Turnbull, said that those affected were senior men. the majority of whom had served the Government all their lives, and the retention of the regulation keeping them in the service after tney were entitled to retire was regarded as highly unfair.
