OFFICIAL FORECASTS " The Press ” Special Service WELLINGTON, May 5. The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m., by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: there is a shallow depression Jtist west of the Auckland Peninsula. Pressure remains high east of New Zealand, but is low in the south Tasman Sea. The forecast is for moderate to fresh north-easterly winds. Weather overcast, with rain developing towards evening. Moderate temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the; South Island is:— Moderate westerly winds. Weather fair. Temperature moderate.
