Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; Situation: an anti-cyclone east of New Zealand is losing its intensity. A shallow depression is just north of New Zealand, and a deep depression south of Tasmania. Forecast to 5 pjn.: moderate winds from a northerly quarter. Weather fair and mild. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Toland is:— Moder-te to fresh north-easterly winds. Weather unsettled, with drizzle er rain at times. Moderate temperatures. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny. The maximum temperature during the day was 70 degrees. At 1 o'clock this morning the sky was clear and there was a light northeasterly breeze. The barometer at 29.95 in (1014.2 millibars) was falling.
