THE NORTH CANTERBURY HOSPITAL BOARD desires to announce that the next Term of the Training School WILL COMMENCE IN JULY, 1946. Applicants are admitted in January, April, July, and October of each year. Applications are now being received. The Nursing Aid Course is available to young women of 17 years and over. It provides for an interesting two-year period of training, and is designed to cover in the first three months, training in the Domestic Aris, and thereafter personal care of the patients and Ward Hygiene. In addition to Doctors* Lectures, tuition in Nursing Technique, Nutrition, and Domestic duties will be given throughout the Course of training by fully qualified Tutor Sisters and Dietitians. On qualifying. Nursing Aids obtain State Registration. They may then 'practise their profession where desired, either on the trained staff of the Board, at Burwodd Hospital, chronic hospitals or elsewhere. Alternatively they may, if they wish, obtain their general Nursing training at Christchurch or other Hospitals, in which case an exemption of one year in the Nursing Course is given.
