“The Press” Special Service 3 AUCKLAND, May 1 Several South Island horses are cardad for the Waikato and Thames Trotting Clubs’ combined winter meeting, to te held at Te Rapa to-morrow. The principal races will be the Waikato Handicap and the Stewards* Handicap. Betting wifi be on the win and place system. Many of the. horses engaged have been raciag prominently on the recent West Coast circuit and should be at the peak of their form. Others have revealed consistent form at pre-circuit meetings in the Auckland province. Horses likely to be well supported are: 11.30 a.m.—Puriri Handicap: Bonny Scott, Bel worth. Soldier Sam. 12.13 p.m.—Matangi Handicap: India* Triumph, Cam Derby, Herald. 12.56 p.m.—Hauraki Handicap: Captain Gaillard, -Noble de Oro, Albert Tracey. B 1.39 p.m.—Waikato Handicap: Task Force-Renown’s Pride bracket, Lord Brooklyn, Black Jewel. 2.22 p.m.—Te Kawa Handicap: IM Qd, Nero, Bonny Scott. 3.5 p.m.—Tamahere Handicap: Jadde Boy, Noble de Oro, Sir Victor. 3.48 p.m.—Hillcrest Handicap: Symctrs, . Lady Averll, Typical. 4.34 p.m.—Stewards* - Handicap: Cry Baby, Our Gail, Local Gold-Task Korea bracket. •
