NEW POST FOR SIR WALTER CITRINE
LONDON. Feb. 28. Sir Walter Citrine, who has been general secretary of the British Trades Upion Congress for 20 years, is resigning to take up an important position on the Coal Board, says the “Evening News.” The Minister of Fuel (Mr E. Shinwell) personally appealed to the General Council of the Trades Union Congress to release Sir Walter Citrine for this task. It is understood that Sir Walter Citrine will begin his pew duties early in the summer. He, will have to resign his position as president of the World Federation of Trade Unions as the board position win be a full time one.
