INSTRUCTION FOR UNIVERSITY
* PROVISIONS BY TECHNICAL COLLEGE “The provision of instruction for students unable to gain admission to Canterbury University, College ha* had a good deal of attention here and * in this matter ? have been in close touch with the Rector,” stated the Principal Of the Christchurch Tecfcnical College (Dr. D. E. Hansen) la*t evening at a college board meeting. ♦‘We are in a position to provide either a preparatory course for those who wish to do stage I at the University next year, or to prepare students to sit as extra-mural candidates in mathematics and applied mathematics this year.” Dr. Hansen said. “We can provide instruction only in these two subjects for stage I this year, as science subjects, as physics, chemistry, botany and biology, require practical certificates signed by members of the university teaching staff. However, we can give instruction to a good standard in these subjects and students who take them should hpve po difficulty in passing stage I at the University next W? Instruction ip any subject mentioned would be started as soon as the necessary number had enrolled, the principal added. The classes would be held in the evenings or on Saturday mornings, these being the only tuna? the accommodation was available.
