Briefly describing difficulties and shortages, she said that in one combined general and maternity “hospital with 500 beds, the staff had eight pieces of soap a week for all purposes. There was no fuel with which to heat water and washing for the hospital was done in three ordinary sized baths. She described how she had managed to get some enormous century-old baths from a palace and these were used for the hospital laundry. From bombed buildings she had obtained slabs of marble which were placed orr kitchen tables/ These .proved a boon to sorely tried workers who had little soap or hot water with which to scrub their tables. “The women of Malta,” she concluded, “are brave, pattent, and resigned to the Will of God.” You are.-invited .to consult Klexema Specialists about Baby Eczema.
