OFFICIAL FORECASTS ' The Press ” Special Service WELLINGTON, March 1. The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with tne 20 hours following the time of issue, is as Situation* an anti-cyclone covers the South Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate southerly winds, tending to easterly. Weather cloudy, but improving and becoming fine. Temperatures cool. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Couth Island is:— Moderate variable winds. Weather fine, and temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was overcast, with a south-west wind in the afternoon and light rain in the evening. The maximum temperature was 62 degrees. At 1 o'clock this morning the sky was overcast and the wind was a southerly. The barometer, at 3®.13 inches (1020.3 millibars), was steady.
