HORTICULTURAL SHOW
BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ EXHIBITS More than 2000 entries were received for the fourth Christchurch BoysL and Girls’ Horticultural Show, which was held in the Caledonian Hall yesterday. The splendid display of vegetables and cut flowers represented the culmination of much care and attention by the children. A special display of ornamental shrubs and exhibits of nassella tussock were arranged by the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, and there was a display of pond life by Miss M. Purves.
Outstanding exhibitors were Colleen Talbot, B. Besley, Julie Carter, Norma Kells, Joanna Lamb, Jean Lockie, Cushla Malcolm, Joyce Willis, Marion Prouting, Noel Berryman, Audrey Cartwright, Barry Rick, G. Watson, Robert Taggart, and Merle Hollobon.
