NEW YORK TUGBOAT STRIKE ENDS
(Rec. 7.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 13. The Mayor of New York (Mr William O’Dwyer) announced to-day that the tugboat strike had been called off and that the men were returning to work to-morrow morning pending arbitration in the wages and hours dispute. The Pittsburg light and power employees announced to-day that the power strike had ended and that a full service would be restored immediately. The Philadelphia transport strike has also ended. Canadian Cars.—Trade Department offices Is. commenting on a Wellington report that New Zealand was permitting the importation of only a few cars from Canada although British imports would be widely increased, said Canada had planned to send a token shipment to New Zealand early in 1946, but steel and other strikes prevented it—Ottawa, February 13.
