BRITISH EVACUATING PERSIA
(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) TEHERAN, Feb. 14. The British Embassy has officially denied reports circulated from Moscow that a large number of British troops had arrived in Teheran. The Embassy says the bulk of British forces have already left and'there will be no British troops in Persia by March 2, the official date of evacuation.
Jet Aircraft in R.A.F.—The Air Ministry states that jet-propelled Gloster Meteor aeroplanes in service in the Royal Air Force as standard fighters have a top speed of 585 miles an hour and are capable of flying 560 miles an hour at a height of six miles. —London, February 14.
