Soviet Election Results.—The Moscow radio states that 99.5 per cent, of the total registered electorate voted at the Soviet general elections on Sunday. Of 99,550,225 registered voters, 99.076,353 voted. All the deputies elected to the Supreme Soviet were Communist and non-party bloc candidates.—London, Feb. 12. Free Speech in China.—The Chinese Supreme National Defence Council has approved of the repeal or amendment of all regulations restricting freedom of speech and other civil rights, thereby honouring Marshal Chiang Kai-shek’s pledge given in his political conference speech on January 12.—Chungking, February 13.
