SATURDAY TRAM SERVICES
REDUCTION IN AUCKLAND LIKELY
'P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 7. A reduction in Saturday tram services because of the decline in patronage caused by the general adoption of Saturday closing by shopkeepers was forecast by the Auckland Transport Board’s engineer and manager (Mr A. E. Ford), when commenting on a report from Wellington that similar action was being contemplated there. He said • the position on Saturday mornings was being watched and the board would have to thin down its ser\ices as circumstances required.
