WANDERING TRIBES OF BABOONS
SOUTH AFRICAN MENACE (Rec. 12.5 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, Jan. 7. Parents have been warned not to allow their children to wander about unescorted owing to the danger _of wandering tribes of baboons, which have been driven from the interior by drought. The baboons have been wrecking gardens and houses. They take a special delight in entering parked motor-cars, ripping off windscreen wipers, and tearing up upholstery Local shooting parties are being organised to deal with the menace.
