ITALIAN POLITICAL PARTY DISSOLVED
LEFT-WING CATHOLICS (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 31. The Vatican radio has announced that the political party which was established in December, 1944, as the socalled Party of Left-wing Catholics, has been dissolved. “Thus ends a movement in Italian Catholic life which was a source of some concern,” said the radio. “Its adherents have become aware of the inconsistency of Catholic and Communist tendencies. In candour, charity, and good intentions the party’s adherents were above reproach. The Holy See, therefore, refrained from condemning the party’outright.”
