HALSWELL SCHOOL CALF AND LAMB CLUB
♦ Livestock competitions were held yesterday by the Halswell School Calf and Lamb Club, Mr D. B. Fleming, of Riccarton, judged the entries. Results were;— Calves (14 entries): Andrew Clark 1, Allan Legg 2, William Brook 3. Best-mannered calf: Patty Jenkins 1. Lambs (14): Murray Woods 1, Edna Shadbolt 2, Cardigan Brook 3. Record book: Noeline Hobson 1, Gaynor Hoyle 2, Allan Legg 3. The annual sports championships resulted as follows;
Boys; Allan Legg (13 points) 1, Athol Pickerby (12) 2, Jack Hunt (2) 3. Girls: Nola Shadbolt (15) 1. Joan Colenso and Bernice Hann (G) (equal)
