CRIPPLED YOUNG MEN’S CLUB
The Crippled Young Men's Club, which meets weekly for social and cultural enjoyment, held its Christmas party at Toe H rooms, Gloucester street, on Wednesday evening. The president, Mr Harry Grainger, welcomed the guests, and announced that the Ron McGee trophy for the member who most successfully lives up to the ideal of the badge of the club, had been won this year by Mr Geoffrey Horton, a past president of the club. The club’s orchestra, which has progressed greatly during the year, played Christmas carols. Songs were sung by Miss E. McGee, and playettes were presented by boys of the club. Specially invited guests were members of the advisory committee and of the Incapacitated Girls’ Club. The regular meetings of members will be discontinued for a few weeks, and the club will reopen in the middle of January. It was announced that members hoped in the future to have their own club rooms, and a look-out was being kept for suitable premises near the centre of the city : -•
