CRITICISM OF BANK DIRECTOR
BUSINESSMEN'S EXECUTIVE'S RESENTMENT
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, December 7. Criticism of Mr Stronach Paterson by the Hon. W. Grounds during the second reading debate on the Bank of New Zealand Bill in the Legislative Council was referred to at a meeting of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce yesterday.
Members made it plain that they were not concerned with Mr Grounds's views on Mr Paterson as a director of the Ban.k of New Zealand, but said that they resented very strongly his remarks on Mr Paterson as a member of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. They placed on record their unanimous approval of Mr Paterson's service in the cause of free enterprise throughout.the-Dominion over .a long period of years, and their confidence in him' as past-president, and a continuing - member of the executive of Associated Chambers of Commerce.
