ASSISTANCE FOR GREECE
PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD IN CHRISTCHURCH A public meeting to support the sending of four New Zealand relief teams through CORSO to Greece will be held in the Civic Theatre on Monday. The Primate of New Zealand (Archbishop West-Watson) will preside at the meeting, which has been arranged by the National Council of Churches.
The meeting will also urge upon the Government the importance of sending as much food as possible to Great Britain, Europe, and China. Other speakers will be the Mayor (Mr E. H. Andrews), Captain C. H ypham, V.C. and bar, and Mr P H N. Freeth. . *
