, Ross'MeParlane, a boot clicker,"'aged.24, of 65 Bletsoe avenue, pleaded guilty to three of receiving goods which he knew had been dishonestly obtained. McFarlane was charged with receiving an electric clock valued at £7, the property of the Christchurch: Working' Mens Club; a saw spindle and carpenter's fools Watts; and a set of pipe stocks and dies valued at £4, the property of unknown persons.' .

Greymouth, was charged with assaulting James Wallis on the Rakaia-Christchurch train on September 18. and, with being in possession of liquor on the train. Mr P. H. T. Alpers appeared for Tuck. The case was . adjourned to December 20. CONVERSION ALLEGED Two young men, whose names were ordered to be suppressed, were remanded to appear on February 7 on a charge of unlawfully converting a bicycle to their own use. FINE IMPOSED William Henry Blackler was fined 10s for failing to pay a social security levy. On two other similar charges, Blackler was ordered to pay costs. CHIMNEY FIRE Philip Stanley Foster was fined 5s and ordered to pay costs for allowing a chimney to catch Bre. NAME SUPPRESSED A man, whose name was ordered to be suppressed, and for whom Mr W. R. Laseelles appeared, was remanded to appear on December 13 on a charge of stealing, at Amberley, on October 27, a rifle valued at £2, the property of Lawrence Riley Wilkes. -Bail was allowed at £25. with one surety of £25. CONVICTION ENTERED
