A small sawmill at the New sfca*. land Refrigerating Company’s works 8t Islington was destroyed by fire earl? yesterday morning. Quick work by the company’s' brigade prevented ;tb e spread of the fire to adjoining timber stacks. If was thought that spbntaM* ous combustion of sawdust caused'!!? 6 fire. The brigade was at work five minutes of the alarm tieing sounded. : ’-
The mill was a wooden shed with an iron roof, containing two sawS;ah“ a nailing machine. Sawn timber id the shed was destroyed and a stack close to the mill was charred. Tb® damage was estimated at between £IOOO and £ISOO.
