EVACUEES FROM EAST INDIES
FACILITIES OFFERING IN DUNEDIN
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, December 4. Details of the plan to bring 400 evacuees from the Dutch East Indies to Dunedin, and the possibility of this city being made the South Island headquarters of the scheme for the care of T V ? cll £ es< were announced by Captain John Schoon, of the Dutch East Indian Army, who will be in charge of the Dutch evacuees in the South Island. Captain Schoon has advised the commissioner in Australia of the accommodation available in Dunedin, and of the great help that has been given by the mayor in his efforts to find accominodation for about 400 evacuees in Dunedin and neighbouring towns. The Dutch authorities have been so impressed with Captain SchoorTs description of the facilities offering in Dunedin that instead of terminating their tour in Christchurch they will arrive in Dunedin on Thursday morning, and le t£L e afiain for the north on Friday There is a possibility of using Littlebourne House, the late Sir John Robertss gift to the city, and also Castle on the Otago Penin-
