Rain in the ranges, and isolated shotvers elsewhere in the afternoon, otherwise weather fair. Temperatures moderate. WEST COAST Fresh northerly winds predominating. Weather cloudy with intermittent rain, but improving slowly from the south. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was fine, but for the most part cloudy, with light, variable winds. The maximum temperature Was 73.9 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was cloudy, with a moderate northerly wind. The barometer, falling, registered 29.44 inches (997.0 millibars).
