DINGHY FOUND CAPSIZED
* ' -—♦— THREE MEN MISSING ACCIDENT NEAR LYALL BAY (P.A.) . WELLINGTON, Oct 31." A dinghy in which three men. had previously been seen fishing was found floating upside down off Moa Point, near Lyall Bay, at 5 p.m. to-day. Though an extensive search was carried out before dark by a police party, no trace was found of the three men. The identity of two of them has been established, but late to-night the identity of the third man who, it is believed, wss the owner of the boat, had not been ascertained. The men identified were:— S. Brooker, of 7 Glendaver street, Wellington, and J. G. Lewis, of the same address. A resident near Moa Point saw the three men in the boat at 3.15 p.m. High seas were running, and when the resident did not see the boat come ashore she telephoned for the police. While searching the beach the police noticed sn unoccupied car parked on Moa Point road. It was later discovered to be owned by the missing fishermen. ' , The police said to-night they had been informed: that Brooker and Lewis had left home at 12.30 p.m. to-day with the intention; of going fishing. They had not returned. The search will be continued to-morrow morning.
