MUSIC FESTIVAL WEEK
* PROGRAMME IN BOTANIC GARDENS It is expected that a large crowd will attend the brass band and choral festival which will be held in the Botanic Gardens to-morrow as part of the Music Festival Week. The bands will march to the gardens from Cathedral square, and the open air concert will commence at 2.30 p.m. on the archery lawn. The programme will be simitar to that arranged for the Victory Music Festival, which was cancelled because of bad weather during the V-E Day celebrations. Bookings have been good for the opera, "II ' Trovatore,” which will be performed at the Theatre Royal today, Monday, Thursday, and next Saturday. Matinee performances Will be held" on both Saturdays. Seven choral societies are taking part in the various choral festivals which will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday. and Friday.
