NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES. PURSUANT to the previsions of “The Counties Act, 1920,’ “The Rating Act, 1925,” and Amendments thereto. PUBLIC NOTICE: IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the CHEVIOT COUNTY COUNCIL at a Meeting to be held on FRIDAY, the 10th DAY OF AUGUST, 1945, proposes to make and levy the following General and Special Rates:— 1. A GENERAL RATE of Seven-Eighths (Jd) of a penny in the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the whole County; 2. A HOSPITAL RATE of Eleven-Six-■'teenths of a Penny (11/15 d) in the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the whole County. , 3. A Hurunui Bridge Renewal Rate of l/48th penny in the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the whole County. (Hurunui Bridge Loan.) 4. A Bridges and Culverts Rate of l/32nd Penny in the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the whole County. (Bridges and Culverts Loan.) 5. A Special Rate of lid in the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the Huru-nui-Blythe Special Rating Area (Huru-nui-Biythe Road Loan.) 6. A Special Rate of Id In the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the Cbnway Special Rating Area. (Conway Road and Bridge Loan.) 7. A Special Rate of 4Jd In the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the Mackenzie Township Special Rating Area. (Mackenzie Footpaths Loan.) 8. A Special Rate of 25/32 nd of a Penny in the £ on the Capital Valuations of the Stonyhurst Special Rating Area. 9. A Special Rate of 2}d In the £ on the Unimproved Valuations of the Wa'iau River Special Rating Area. 10. A Uniform Sanitary Charge of £3 I2j 6d per pan per Annum, on the properties within the Mackenzie Township Special Rating Area. The above-mentioned Rates and Sanitary Charge are to be for the period from the Ist day of April. 1945, to the 31st day of March, 1946, and are to become due and payable In one sum at the County Office, Cheviot, on Friday, 31st day of August, 1945. Such GENERAL AND HOSPITAL RATES only, are to be subject to a REBATE of Five Per Centum (5 per cent.), if paid in full within one month of due date, i.e„ by September 30th, 1945. NOTICE is hereby given that nominations for the Electoral Committee of the United Wheatgrowers (N.Z.), Ltd., will be received at the office of the Company, corner Madras and Hereford streets, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, August 6th, 1945. Nominations aie required to fill the vacancies on the Electoral Committee in the various districts as follows; In the event of more nominations than required for any particular district, an election will be held by postal ballot on September 10, 1945.
