Now the Combined Choir of the Christchurch Harmonic Society and of the Royal Christchurch Musical Society present this famous work to celebrate the defeat of the European tyrants. JUDAS MACCABAEUS When this great oratorio was last performed In Christchurch it was an outstanding success and large attendances or that occasion testified to the popularity of the work. In response to many requests the combined committee unanimously chose “Judas Maccabaeus” for presentation this year. A Hospital and Charitable Institutions Rate of 9/I6ths of a penny In the £ on the Capital Value of all Rateable property within the Borough. Also a Uniform Annual Sanitation Fee of £1 7s (one pound seven shillings) in respect of pans contained in closets or privies upon such properties in the Borough of Kaiapoi as have a house, or houses erected thereon and are liable for, such fee. Also, in pursuance of a Special Order of the Waimakarlri River Trust, a General Rate of 702/5000ths of a penny in the £, and on the Eyre-Cust Loan Area a rate of 202/500ths of a penny in the £, on the Capita) Value of all Rateable Property within that portion of the Walraakariri River Trust District as is within the Borough and classified in Class A of the said Trust’s classification, and that portion as is within Class A of the EyreCust Loan Area. Also in pursuance of a Special Order of the North Canterbury Catchment Board, a General Rate of l/40th of a penny in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable Property within the Borough. The whole of the said .rates and Uniform Annual Sanitation Fee to be for the period commencing Ist day of April, 1945, and ending 31st day of March. 1946, and to be payable in one sum at the office of the Kaiapoi Borough Council on the 17th day of August, 1945. The Valuation Roll is open for inspection during office hours.
