The objects of the association are, inter alia, to combine in one body all unions of transport workers and to aim at uniform working conditions for members of affiliated unions. The head office will be in Wellington. Another object adopted by the conference is to assist affiliated unions to obtain, where possible, their full economic rights, that is, for workers to share in the ownership and control of the industry. The conference decided that before any action was taken -involving affiliated unions or union, a dispute should be handed to the executive of the Transport Workers’ Association, which would consult with the executive of the Federation of Labour , The conference congratulated the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) on his splendid work at San Francisco, and recorded full support and approval of the Government proposals to take over the Bank of New Zealand and the airways of the Dominion. _
