HOUSE SET ON FIRE
- * FOURTH RECENT CASE IN AUCKLAND (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 9. A fire believed to have been deliberately caused damaged a house at 58 Sarsfleld street, ' Herne Bay, at 10 o’clock to-night. The police on arrival found that a leadlight in the front door had been broken, entry apparently having been gained by this means. The brigade succeeded in extinguishing the fire, but two rooms and their contents, together with a portion of the passage way, were extensively damaged. The dwelling, a large single-storey house, was occupied by Mrs A. E. Whitten and her daughter, who yere both out for the evening. This is the fourth fire since June 20 attributed to incendiary origin, the previous three being in Remuera. In all of these panels in the front doors have been found broken. .
