FUNERAL OF MR F. WILDING, K.C.

A large number of citizens attended the funeral of Mr Frederick Wilding, K.C., on Saturday morning. The Rev. J. F. Feron conducted a service at Mr Wilding’s home and later a short service at the Crematorium at Bromley. The funeral was attended by many members of the legal profession in Christchurch and old sporting friends of Mr Wilding. The Mayor (Mr E. H Andrews), members of the City Council, the Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, and Colonel Sir Hugh Acland were present. The pall-bearers were Mr C. G. de C. Crury and Mr A. C Perry (partners of Mr Wilding) and Mr E. A. Leo, Mr L. D. C itterill, Mr R. L. Ronaldson, and Mr L. J. Hensley (members of the Canterbury District Law Society). By request there were no wreaths, but a number of floral sprays were sent, several being from societies and bodies with which Mr Wilding had been associated.
