Boolunaking.—ln the House of Representatives yesterday Mr H. T. Morton (Opposition, Waitemata) gave notice to ask the Minister of Internal Affairs if he would set up a Royal Commission immediately, as promised to devise ways and means of controlling gambling in the Dominion in all its phases, and in particular the licensing of bookmakers, with a view to eliminating the present illegal methods of betting away from racecourses.— (P.A.)
