Mr Gandhi, speaking ai a hill station near Poona, said: “I cannot enthuse over the Allied victory in Europe, although an Axis victory would have been far worse. The Axis accepted violence as a creed, The Allied forces won because of superior arms and manpower, but they at least paid lip service to peace, truth, and non-violence.
