Banner Springs Without Water
Hanmer Springs township was without water on Monday as the result of three sections of the pipe line to the reservoir being washed away when the Rogerson river broke its banks k and scoured round the concrete supports of the pipe line until they were dislodged. Workmen hoped to have repairs completed last evening. Heavy rain fell in the Hanmer Springs district on Saturday and Sunday and up to 9 a.m. yesterday morning 4.04 in were recorded at the Hanmer State Forest.
