“SPECIAL PRISONERS” IN GERMAN HANDS
RELATIVES OF KING AND , QUEEN STILL HELD (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, April 18; A correspondent of “The Times” who was taken prisoner in the commando raid on St. Nazaire was among prisoners released from a prison camp on April 15. He said that three nights previously Germans had removed a number of special prisoners, including Lieutenant Lord Lascelles, the King’s nephew: Captain the Master of Elphinstone, the Queen’s, nephew; Captain Michael Field-Marshal Alexander’s cousin; Mr Giles Romilly, Mr Churchill’s nephew; and Mr John Wlnant, son of the American Ambassador to London. - The correspondent added that the Germans were on the poipt of removing the remaining 350 prisoners, Including many well-known British officers and others, when the Americans reached the camp.
