FORECAST OF RAIN IN AUSTRALIA
(Rec. 8 p.m.) ADELAIDE, Feb. 25. “Conditions in Australia promise rain and welcome relief from the long drought,” said Sir Douglas Mawson, the famous Antarctic explorer and scientist. "In the northern hemisphere the record drought last year was broken by a wet summer which held •up military operations on the Continent. This has been followed by an extremely cold winter with heaw snowfalls.” . Sir Douglas Mawson said be thought it not unlikely that .Australia wbuld have a wet, cold winter, with several good seasons following.
