Army Harvest Camp.— The Army harvest detachment in camp at the Temuka Domain is comprised of the complete Burnham Band unit. They have’ signified their willingness to assist at any functions for the benefit of patriotic funds, and will, parade the streets in Temuka one evening. Their instruments will arrive within the next few days. An appeal for books or magazines for the camp has been made by the Mayor (Mr G. A. Harris)! Cocksfoot Crop at Waimate.—Tim browth of cocksfoot, in Waimate district this season is unusually luxuriant. and high returns are expected by those who harvest the seed. The Waimate County Council received the sum of £94 5s from those whose tenders were, accepted for the right to cut, the grass on roadsides in the county. Tenders were let on the block | system and applications were received
