# ENEMY FEAR OF AMERICAN LANDINGS NEW YORK. Oct. 20. “The Japanese, in oreparation for feared American landings in China, have fortified a coastal area between Shanghai and Hangchow Bay.” said a Chinese Army sookesman. MajorGeneral Chang. “The Japane-e are building submarine bases at Wenchow. Foochow, and Amoy.”
