The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue. Is as follows - An anti-cyclone from the Tasman Sea is moving on to the North Island, while a trough is approaching Tasmania from the west. The forecast to 5 p.m. is for light to moderate and variable winds, north-easterly on the coast. Weather fine. Mild day and cool night temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island Is:— Moderate and variable winds. Weather fair to fine, although cloud Increasing by Tuesday. Moderate day and cool night temperatures, CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch over the Week-end was fine, sunny, and warm. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was cloudy and there was a light north-easterly wind. The barometer at 30.41 Inches (1029.8 millibars) was rising.
