CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
NATIONAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP (P.A.) WELLINGTON, September 23. The New Zealand junior cross-country championship to-day resulted:— P. Tulloch (West Coast, North Island) 1; A. Pay (Wellington) 2; Vogtherr (Hawke’s Bay) and Stanyer (Auckland) equal 3. Wellington won the teams’ contest. PRESBYTERIAN CLUB ' A handicap race for. the Comber Cup was held on Saturday by members of the Presbyterian Harrier Club, when they were the guests of the St. Martins Young Women’s Bible Class. ■ Results.—R. Newton (lOJmin) 1, 1. J. Joyce (13Jmin) 2. G. Lawn (14mln) 3. Fastest time was secured by I. J. Clarke. Colts also competed for their handicap shield with the following results; F. Gaskell 1, D. Fraser 2, M. Towart 3. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES’ CLUB A race for the medium pack trophy was held by members of the Christchurch Ladies’ Pioneer Harrier Club on Saturday when they were the guests cl Mrs E. Hann, Rossall street, Fendalton. The trail was laid by R. Plato and A. Hughes. The medium pack trophy was won by J. Richards, with B. Bradley second. E. Hann was -third. Other results were:—Fast pack—B Thomas 1. P. Kirk 3. Slow pack—J. Burbery 1. R. Field 2, E. Atkinson 3.
