BASKETBALL
Two basketball games were played at the East Christchurch SChool courts on Saturday. Canterbury third grade representative team met the West Coast team, Hollanders met Lichfield A in the semifinal of me fourth grade. The season will finish next Saturday, when the fourth grade final will be played. In the interprovincial match the teaqts were:— ■- West Coast.—B. Armstrong, E. Hansen; D. Stanton: E. Meaghes, N. Burgess, ,Ji: Leach; E. Armstrong, L. Henderson, A.Newton. ’ - Canterbury.—M. Henry, C. Ward. Jr Oughton; E. Mintle. M. McLaughlin: Z. Jack; P. McLaughlin, H. Hamilton, V. Batstone. _ The goal-shooting • of the West Coast team was outstanding. The score was: Coast 21. Canterbury 18. Fourth Grade.—Semi-final, Hollanders 23, Lichfield 16.
