“H.M.S. PINAFORE”
On Thursday and last evening at the Radiant Hall, the pupils of the Christchurch West High School gave performances of the Gilbert and Sulli- ' van opera “H.M.S. Pinafore” before ' crowded houses The production of 1 such a work was an ambitious undertaking tor school pupils, but the outstanding success of the performances justified the care which had been taken in its production. The opera was produced by Miss C. M Miller, the stage manager was Mr Malcolm Smith, the musical director Miss M. E. Osborn. Mr L. T. J. And- - rews was responsible for the stage set- ; tings. The school orchestra, under the i conductorship of Miss Osborn, gave a . spirited performance.
