Goods Packed In Cartons The practice among New Zealand shipowners of endorsing all bjlls of lading for goods packed in cartons, whether new or otherwise, with the words “insufficient package” has been investigated recently by the Associated Chambers of Commerce. The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce has now been advised that when goods packed in new cardboard cartons are tendered for shipment, clean receipts will be given. The cartons must be of sufficient strength, and must be tendered for shipment in good order and condition. They must not weigh more than 601b gross, and must contain dry goods only. Any goods coming under the designation of valuable cargo are not to be shipped in cartons.
