REMANDED John Stuart Shute, aged 17, was remanded until to-day on charges of stealing a bicycle valued at £9, the property of Elsie Irene Wootton, stealing a suit coat and waistcoat valued at £4, the property of James Hampson, and 12s in money from Georgina O’Neill. IMPRISONMENT FOR THEFT Albert Edward Ross was charged with stealing at Burnham Military Camp, 201b of bacon, 41b of tea, five packets of custard powder, and one bottle of lemon essence, of a total value of £1 19s Bd, the property of the New Zealand Army Department. Thomas Hedley Stocker and Alfred Hicks Howell, after being dealt with In the Supreme Court on major charges, appeared for sentence on other charges. On five charges of unlawfully converting cars to their own use, each was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour on each charge. For theft, Stocker was sentenced to three months' Imprisonment with hard labour, and on a charge of receiving stolen goods he was convicted and discharged. Howell, oq the first of three charges of unlawful conversion, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour and convicted and discharged on the others. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with .hard labour on the first of seven charges of theft, and convicted and discharged on the others. All the sentences on each accused will be concurrent with the sentences Imposed in the Supreme Court.
