COLLEGE BLUES AWARDED
Fifteen Blues for excellence in some branch of college sport were awarded by the Blues Committee of the Canterbury University College Students’ Association at its annual meeting held last evening. Blues are awarded for outstanding play in competition matches and tournaments, and no player is .eligible unless he has taken part in two-thirds of these. No nominations were receive*? for Blues in tennis, boxing, pr athletic?, as no university Easter tournament was held this ypat, although 11 more Blues were awarded than in 1943. The 'following were awarded Blues: —Men’s hpckey, D.' M,. Wilson and J. P. Mann; women’s hockey, Noeline Gourley, Betty Sparrow, and Zella Martin; women’s basketball, Jeanne Smith; football, R. Monigatti, J. G. McG. Mclntyre, J. A. Neale, G. A. Drummond, B. J. Drake, B. E. Bond. K. E. Gudsell. E. J. Harris, and D. J. Hodgins. '
