AUSTRALIAN MADE AIRCRAFT
CANBKRHA, Sept. 20. Australia’s intention to manufacture the Mustang fighter, one of the worlds best pursuit aircraft, was announced by the Minister of Aircraft Production (Mr D. Cameron). He said plans were well advanced and the aircraft would be in production in a few months. The Mustang would be powered with the latest Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Australia would also manufacture the Lancaster bomber. , . Mr Cameron also disclosed that Australian engineers and other technical officers had been in England for several months studying jet propulsion. sale at Burnside. The fairly large entry of 330 fat cattle represented good quality which, however, was not up to the standard of recent sales. The sale was keen throughout, prices foi bullocks being firm at late rates, and cows and heifers advancing In price from 10s to £1 compared with the sale last week. Top price was £25 7s 6d for cattle, and several consignments averaged from £22 to £23 Best quality bullocks realised to £25 7s 6d; prime heavy, £2l 7s 6d to £23 12s; medium £l7 12s 6d to £lB 17s 6d; light, to £l6 12s 6d; extra prime heifers, to £l7 7s fld: prime, £l3 2s 6d to £ls 12s 6d; medium. £l2 2s 6d to £l3 2s 6d; extra prime cows, to £l6 7s 6d; prime, £l2 12s 6d to £l4 12s 6d; light and medium, to £lO 12s 6d. . . . . About 2000 sheep were penned.
