amgot in occupied GERMAN AREAS By order of General Elsenhower, a message is being broadcast to the people of western and south-western Germany, telling them that Amgot (Allied Military Government iri Occupied Territories) is being set up in the occupied German territory. Its Immediate task will be to secure Allied lines of communication, but it will also begin the task ; of destroying the Nazi regime, It will remove from office all members of the Nazi Party and the S.S., and all who have played a leading part in the Nazi regime. German civilians should continue in their normal occupaSeptember 18. INVASION OF HOLLAND Allied ground forces from Belgium are reported to be seven miles inside Holland, and still advancing. It is not revealed where the paratroops '■ were dropped in- Holland, but'all are slated to have landed in the areas planned. Air operations over Holland yesterday were the biggest of their kind, and 3000 sorties were carried out'by Allied aircraft. Tire Germans,put up .only token resistahbe’ .'in'-the air.—London, September 18.
